Tomomi has spent the last few years investigating the idea of learning as a social practice, where curiosity helps conversations unfold and we as independent-minded professionals grow and thrive together.

In this talk, she’ll share a series of perspectives on how we might increase our range for engaging with the world. Topics will include side projects, mentorship, hard vs soft skills, communities of practice, and more.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER 

Tomomi is a designer and partner at AQ, an independent design consultancy. She brings product strategy, design research, and facilitation skills to challenges like organisational culture change and improving the customer experience.

Tomomi is co-founder of Design Research Tokyo and a board director for the ResearchOps Community. She’s been based in Paris since late 2014. Up until 2020, she was constantly traveling and spent a few weeks in Tokyo every six months. These days, her exploring is focused on cycling through Île-de-France.
