The design thinking process, introduced by IDEO and developed at Stanford University, has become a crucial part of a future-proof organisation that creates innovative products and services that their users love.

At Namahn, we believe that learning happens while doing. This is the reason why we organise an immersive camp for anybody who wishes to get started with this design doing approach.

What to expect

  • A virtual immersive and hands-on online introduction to design thinking, taught by Namahn designers 
  • Live teaching and theory in our virtual design studio once a week to explore and practice design thinking tools  
  • Self-paced activities to follow between online sessions

Design Thinking Camp is for you if

  • You are interested in design thinking, human-centred design or user experience and want to know how to apply it in your day-to-day
  • You want to or currently work on improving digital products or services within your organisation and would like to understand how design thinking can help you
  • You often work in a team context and want to inject some creativity into your way of working

No prior design knowledge is needed in order to participate, but you are welcome to join if you have. We ensure that all maturity levels have an interesting learning experience, no matter your design skill level.

Format

  • Pre-event activities: 
    • Introductory material to read on design thinking basics 
    • Introduction to online tools (Zoom, Miro) that will be used during camp 
    • Meet-and-greet event with all camp attendees and Namahn coaches 
  • 7-week online camp: 
    • A three-hour session once per week with Namahn coaches with live theory and activities 
    • Two hours per week of self-paced activities to follow between online sessions 
    • Three guest speaker events (1 hour each) with a final farewell social event 
  • Post-event activities 
    • Namahn Design Thinking Camp certificate and all other materials shared during the course for you to keep 
    • Follow-up survey to share your experience and opinions 
    • The invitation to use a 10% discount on any future Namahn training course (online or in person)

Registration and invoicing policy – Registration is only finalised after receipt of this fully completed document. Payment should be done upon receipt of the invoice, within 10 working days. When your registration is finalised, you will receive confirmation, as well as a reminder with practical details at least two working days before the course.

All tickets are subject to availability: places are limited to a maximum of 20 participants.

Non-Belgian EC members: please note an additional 21% VAT is charged on your participation fee (rule of VAT exemption does not apply on fees for attending trainings in Belgium). Namahn’s account information can be found under administrative info.

General principles – Registrations are done on a first-come, first-serve basis. If a training is fully booked, people wanting to register will be put on a waiting list. They will be given a sequence number in both the Contacts and Participants file. Registrations become final after receipt of payment. To ensure diversity, we accept at most two participants from the same organisation.

Cancellation policy – Cancellation without charges is possible until 30 days prior to the design camp. No refund is issued for cancellations within 30 days of the start of the design camp. Note, however, that a registration may be transferred to another participant of the same company.

Namahn reserves the right to cancel a course due to insufficient enrolment. Such decisions will be made at least 14 days before the scheduled dates. Registrants will be notified via email.

Namahn reserves the right to replace the facilitators based on availability. The replacement facilitators will have an equivalent level of expertise in the field and participants will be notified ahead of time to the extent possible.

You may choose to give us personal information, such as your name and address or e-mail address that may be needed, for example, to correspond with you, to process or to provide you with a subscription. It is our intent to let you know how we will use such information. If you tell us that you do not want us to use this information as a basis for further contacts with you, we will respect your wishes. We intend to protect the quality and integrity of your personal information. We will make a sincere effort to respond in a timely manner to your requests to correct inaccuracies in your personal information.
